About Me

A focused engineer building toward data science, machine learning, and scalable software systems.

I am Milan Ghimire, a computer engineering graduate from Nepal building deep expertise in machine learning, data science, and backend system design. I care most about how real world systems process data at scale and how intelligent models can turn that data into practical, reliable solutions. I hold an Engineering registration license from the Nepal Engineering Council (Registration No: 96771).

What I work on

My work sits at the intersection of software engineering and applied AI. On the engineering side I build full stack web applications with the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node) and Next.js, and I have shipped WordPress based systems for real clients. On the AI side I focus on computer vision and deep learning, training and deploying models with PyTorch, OpenCV, and YOLOv8 for tasks like object detection, instance segmentation, handwriting recognition, and motion based security systems. You can explore these in detail on my projects page.

Writing & teaching

I document what I learn so others can learn faster. My learning notes break down the mathematics and intuition behind machine learning, NumPy and vectorization, Pandas, PyTorch, linear regression, and reinforcement learning, in plain language with runnable code. On my blog I write in depth articles on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and the technology industry in Nepal. I have also taught Python programming and mentored beginners moving into software and data roles.

Technical toolkit

  • Languages: Python, JavaScript / TypeScript, SQL
  • ML / AI: PyTorch, OpenCV, YOLOv8, NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn
  • Web: React, Next.js, Node.js, Express, MongoDB, Tailwind CSS
  • Foundations: data structures & algorithms, distributed systems, system design

Where I'm headed

Right now I am going deeper into deep learning and computer vision, with the long term goal of working on production machine learning systems that solve meaningful problems. If you are working on something in ML, AI, or full stack development, or just want to talk shop, I'd love to hear from you on my contact page.
